Acting Principal’s Message
All of us here at Scoil Chroí Íosa appreciate school life as never before since we have reopened after the extended school closure. Each day is seen as a precious opportunity for learning and for shared experiences. We appreciate simply being together and enjoying each other’s company. We are particularly focused now on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of education and on ensuring that the children have a very solid base to work from. We create opportunities for the children to exercise, to enjoy the open air and to explore the wonderful natural resources we are lucky enough to have at our school. We are very aware of the importance of school as a social hub and we promote a cheerful, respectful and happy atmosphere in which friendships can thrive. We cherish the vital role that parents play in their children’s education and wellbeing, and we are very grateful for the support they provide for our efforts at school.
As Acting Principal, I make sure to find opportunities to connect with each and every child in the school and to let them know that I care about them and have high expectations of them to behave well and try their best. I feel very privileged to be a member of such a great staff who collaborate so well together and provide such a thorough and rounded education for the children in our school. I work closely with our wonderful Parents Association and I make myself available for all parents should they wish to discuss anything with me. I am a member of our active and progressive Board of Management who ensure that every aspect of the school is running smoothly and that ongoing improvements are made.
It is my sincere hope that by approaching all of these relationships with honesty, empathy and integrity, our school will continue to thrive as a happy and productive place where children have every opportunity to expand their potential.
