Hello boys and girls,
Well done, you have reached the last week of 2nd Class! This week you will see lots of fun End of Year activities for you to try. Why not have a look at the virtual school tour to the Titanic Experience in Cobh or alternatively take a trip under the sea using the webcam link below. Should you wish feel free to finish the last pages in your Small World textbook too!
It has been a pleasure teaching you this year and I’m looking forward to seeing you all again when we get back to school. Until then, keep safe & have a lovely, enjoyable summer with your families.

Reading with Junior Infants
In the lead up to our World Book Day celebration, Second Class paid a visit to the Junior Infant classroom and enjoyed reading lots of stories to the infants!

We used our classroom board games to develop our turn-taking and
co-operation skills while having lots of fun too!

Science Week Investigation
During Science Week the boys and girls investigated which materials were best for insulation using some frozen ice hands as our testing objects. We discovered that wool was a great insulator and stopped the ice hand from melting quickly compared to pages of newspaper which didn't work very well. This experiment was also a super way of demonstrating the importance of wearing coats and hats during cold weather spells, as these materials help to insulate us and keep us warm.

Space Week Activities
We had great fun learning lots during Space Week from rocket construction to learning facts about our Solar System and not to mention observing how astronauts wash their hair and brush their teeth in outer space!
